The Old Shippon - Sleeps 8–10
Upon entering The Old Shippon, guests are greeted by a spacious kitchen/diner featuring open ceilings and original exposed beams. The well-equipped kitchen includes an electric double oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, washer/dryer, and a 50/50 fridge freezer. A few steps lead to the living room, which opens onto the patio and garden area. The view from the living room is often compared to a Constable painting, providing a picturesque setting. Upstairs, a mezzanine area above the living room offers a sofa bed and easy chairs, ideal for bird watching. The cottage is designed with two families in mind, featuring two bedrooms and a bathroom on one side, and two bedrooms and a shower room on the other. The living room is equipped with a TV, DVD player, and a selection of books, games, and puzzles for entertainment.
Churn Cottage - Sleeps 4
Churn Cottage, a spacious ground-floor, two-bedroom accommodation, is perfect for guests with limited mobility or families with small children. It is also suitable for assisted wheelchair users, with specific details available in Churn Cottage's access statement. The well-equipped kitchen/diner includes a dishwasher, washer/dryer, 50/50 fridge/freezer, microwave, and electric oven and hob. The bathroom features a large walk-in shower with a luxurious showerhead, underfloor heating, and a heated towel radiator, as well as a wall-hung wash basin, modern non-slip tiles, and grab rails. The living room offers a TV, DVD player, and a selection of books, games, and puzzles. Double doors open to a patio area with a table, chairs, and a charcoal BBQ, offering views of the river and fields where the farm’s cows and sheep graze.
The Stables - Sleeps 7
The Stables is a modern barn conversion featuring a ground-floor double bedroom with exposed beams and an en suite wet room, which includes a large walk-in shower and grab rails, with wheeled shower chairs available if needed. The spacious kitchen/diner is fully equipped with a 50/50 fridge freezer, electric oven and hob, full-sized dishwasher, and microwave. The living area has double doors that open to a patio with garden furniture and a charcoal BBQ. Upstairs, there is a spacious triple bedroom with a double and single bed, a double en suite bedroom, and a family bathroom.
The Cart Shed - Sleeps 5
The Cart Shed welcomes guests into an airy hallway with oak doors leading to a king bedroom equipped with fitted wardrobes, a dressing table, and an en suite wet room. Opposite is a spacious family bedroom with a double and single bed, fitted wardrobe, and en suite shower room. Both bedrooms feature oak sliding shutters that echo the original design. Upstairs, amidst the original Queen post trusses, is a bright living space with a sofa, easy chairs, smart TV, DVD player, dining area, and a fully equipped kitchen with a 60/40 fridge freezer, electric oven and hob, dishwasher, washing machine, and microwave. This cottage combines original beams with modern comforts, including open-plan upstairs living and underfloor heating throughout.
The Area
Sambrook is a small, picturesque village located between the historic market towns of Newport and Market Drayton on the border of Shropshire and Staffordshire. The area is close to notable sites such as Harper Adams Agricultural College and Lilleshall National Sports Centre. The nearest larger town is Telford, just a 15-minute drive away, offering activities like an indoor shopping centre, ice rink, bowling alley, multi-screen cinema, Telford town park, and Horsehay Golf Club. A further five minutes down the road is the heritage site of Ironbridge, known for its historical significance and the world-famous Ironbridge. Shrewsbury, the Royal Air Force Museum at Cosford, and Hawkstone Park & Follies are approximately 30 minutes' drive away.
