Stay in Scotland!
Located between Thornhill and Callander amidst 188 acres of private woodland and pasture, The Lodge offers exceptional self-catering accommodation for up to 12 adults and 2 infants. Designed by Swedish architect Märtha Wachtmeister, The Lodge uniquely combines Scottish vernacular architecture with Scandinavian elegance. Built in 2010 on a historic site, its timber-framed structure features a stone façade and a slate roof, complemented by Danish double-glazed windows that reflect the Scandinavian theme throughout the interior.
The Lodge's spacious L-shaped layout includes three double bedrooms, two of which are en-suite, along with additional shower and utility rooms and a central boot room. The open-plan living area boasts a kitchen, dining space, and a casual lounge with a log burner and two double sofa beds. A graceful staircase leads to an opulent lounge furnished with forest-green velvet sofas and a wood-burning fire, offering views of the surrounding deer and stags.
The fully equipped kitchen includes a range cooker, an American-style fridge/freezer, and all essential amenities. The Lodge sets itself apart with its extensive food service options, including 'Chef & Shepherd Suppers'—a luxurious 5-course à la carte dining experience featuring the same menu from the former 5-star guest house, Woodcroft House, which was voted the best guest house in Scotland by the Good Hotel Guide 2022. Additionally, the 'Heat & Eat' menu offers convenient, delicious meals ready to be heated in the oven upon arrival.
The master suite, located on the same floor, features an en-suite bathroom with ‘his and her’ basin units, a large walk-in shower, and a luxurious double-ended freestanding bath. The bedroom includes a super king bed and a single sofa bed, with a walk-in wardrobe shared with the adjacent twin room. The glass gable end offers breathtaking views, providing glimpses of the majestic deer and stags. Accessible via a private staircase, the fifth bedroom offers a carpeted space with a super king bed and its own en-suite bathroom, featuring a vanity unit and a double-ended bath with a hand-held shower. All beds in the lodge can be split into singles for added flexibility.
The patio area provides the perfect setting for al fresco dining, surrounded by wildlife and panoramic views of Ben Ledi, Ben Lomond, and beyond. Guests can enjoy the hot tub, use the pizza oven, or explore the estate's natural wonders. The Lodge offers a secluded yet convenient retreat, ideal for both relaxation and adventure. Guests can also partake in a deer tour to get up close to the wildlife.
Nearby attractions such as Callander, the Trossachs, and Loch Lomond are easily accessible, and the property prioritises environmental sustainability with features like underfloor heating, a ground source system, and over-spec insulation.
