Elevated in clearings among the trees along the banks of the River Wye, By the Wye offers luxurious treetop Safari Tent accommodation. This off-grid woodland retreat is set on platforms that hover above the forest floor, allowing guests to relax on their decks with the gentle sound of the River Wye below and the expansive, starry skies of the Brecon Beacons Dark Sky Reserve above.
The glamping experience at By the Wye is as breathtaking as its riverside setting. The thoughtfully positioned Safari Tents are elevated on stilts, enabling guests to sleep among the treetops. The accommodation combines the rustic, eco-friendly charm of a campsite with the luxury of a boutique hotel and the comforts of home, all under canvas. By the Wye is a peaceful woodland escape that does not accept bookings for parties or hen/stag dos. As the woods are home to badgers, foxes, otters, and abundant birdlife, dogs are not allowed on the property.
Each eco-friendly glamping tent features its own en-suite bathroom, complete with hot running water, a flushing toilet, a basin, and a power shower. This treetop glamping site offers luxury accommodation under canvas, providing all the comforts needed while immersing guests in the wilderness right at their doorstep. By the Wye invites guests to escape from the world and enjoy the tranquillity of nature.
Visitors at By the Wye already benefit from the practice of Forest Bathing (Shinrin-Yoku), immersing themselves in nature and fully absorbing the sights, sounds, smells, and sensations around them. To enhance the outdoor experience, the site now offers new woodland wellness facilities.
The romantic couples’ safari tent, The Cwtch, is now equipped with a panoramic cedar barrel wood-fired sauna on the lower deck. This sauna hovers above the woodland floor, providing breathtaking views of the River Wye through a floor-to-ceiling glass wall. Guests can relax in the warmth of their private sauna, listen to the soft crackle of the fire, and watch kingfishers, herons, and the occasional otter pass by, creating a unique sauna experience for wellness enthusiasts.
The rear deck of the Holly safari tent has been transformed into a tranquil retreat. In this secluded woodland clearing, guests will find a rainfall shower nestled beneath the trees, along with deckchairs perfect for relaxing and enjoying the peaceful surroundings.
