Holmhead Cottage is a charming 300-year-old retreat nestled within approximately 2 acres of its own grounds in the heart of Royal Deeside. Surrounded by woods and pine trees, it offers a tranquil and peaceful setting. The cottage is accessed via an unmade road from the main A97, shared with just one immediate neighbour, providing a secluded and private location.
The cottage offers comfortable accommodation for up to four guests, with two bedrooms: a master bedroom with a double bed and a second bedroom with twin beds. The bathroom is equipped with a shower, hand basin, and toilet. Guests can enjoy a fully fitted kitchen and free on-site parking.
During their stay, guests will find freshly laundered bed linen and towels, with electricity included. The cottage provides matches and a generous supply of logs for the fireplace. The kitchen is well-equipped with essential crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils, salt, pepper, tea towels, washing-up liquid, hand soap, and cleaning products. Additional amenities include a hairdryer, highchair (upon request), iron, ironing board, TV, and WiFi. Extra storage is available in a clean outdoor shed for skis, luggage, and other items, and board games are provided for cosy evenings indoors.
Holmhead Cottage is just a 2-minute walk from the village of Logie Coldstone. The surrounding area is rich in history, offering plenty of fun and interesting activities to enjoy. Guests can visit historic sites such as Balmoral Castle and the 'Royals' Church at Crathie. The landscape is best appreciated on foot, with many well-established hill walking trails nearby, where visitors might spot one of the area's famous red squirrels. For those who enjoy winter sports, The Lecht Ski Centre is just a 40-minute drive away, offering activities throughout the year.
