Carden Cottage is situated in one of the most desirable areas of central Wells, just a five-minute walk from the Cathedral, Bishop’s Palace, Moat, and Market Place. Wells, known as England’s smallest city, is located in the beautiful Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and is celebrated for its stunning architecture, diverse range of world cuisine restaurants, bistros, wine bars, coffee shops, and friendly locals.
The kitchen at Carden Cottage features a ceramic floor, solid oak cabinets, and two windows that overlook the rear courtyard. It is fully equipped with a double oven and hob, combi microwave, fridge with freezer compartment, dishwasher, washing machine, kettle, and toaster. A small table with two chairs is conveniently placed next to an antique copper wash basin, making it ideal for enjoying bistro-style breakfasts. Upon arrival, guests are provided with tea, coffee, sugar, milk, and some treats.
The spacious lounge/diner offers views of both the front garden and the rear courtyard. It includes a comfortable double sofa bed, a large stone fireplace with a woodburner (with logs and coal provided), an antique pine dining table with chairs, a Smart TV/DVD, stereo, and BT business broadband. A selection of books and games is also available for guest entertainment.
Carden Cottage features two bedrooms: a large master bedroom with a distinctive brass and metal bed frame, and a single bedroom that has enough space for a camp bed or cot. The generously sized bathroom includes an L-shaped bath with a power shower, WC, and basin. A cot and highchair are available upon request.
Outside, guests can enjoy a charming front garden with seating and a BBQ, as well as a small rear patio with additional seating, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the peaceful surroundings.
