Fowey Cottages, located at Little Pinnock, offer a truly special holiday experience, providing not only private gardens but also access to 12 acres of grounds. The rural setting, with its woods and open fields, offers the perfect playground for children to build dens and embark on their own Cornish adventures. Wildlife enthusiasts will be delighted by the chance to spot wild deer, badgers, and kestrels while enjoying a peaceful evening drink at the edge of the woods. For dog owners, the expansive grounds provide ample space for dogs to roam freely, making it a paradise for pets.
Both cottages can be booked individually, but they are often hired together for larger gatherings such as weddings or milestone birthdays. The property has even hosted celebrity guests, with private helicopters landing in the large field. Despite the rural setting, the cottages are only a short distance from the coast and the restaurants of Fowey.
Long House
As its name suggests, Long House is a spacious, open-plan property with high-beamed ceilings, wooden floors, and underfloor heating throughout. At one end of the living area is a well-equipped kitchen with a fridge/freezer, electric oven, and dishwasher. The dining area flows into the sitting room, where guests can relax in front of a log-burning stove on comfortable sofas. Large glass doors open onto a paved patio with wooden garden furniture, perfect for outdoor dining.
The house features three bedrooms: one double, one twin (which can be converted into a super king), and one single. The twin bedroom overlooks the front gardens, while the single bedroom, located off the living room, has floor-length windows with garden views. The downstairs bathroom includes a rainwater showerhead above the bath, and a utility cupboard houses a washer/dryer.
An open gallery above the living area contains two single low-level beds, and the top-floor master bedroom has a high-beamed ceiling, an en-suite shower room, and French doors that lead to a small bridge connecting to the upper garden. Visitors often spot wildlife, such as owls, from this unique vantage point. The house is surrounded by its own gardens, offering quiet spots for reading or watching children play. There is parking for three cars in front of the house.
Pella
Pella, the first house to be renovated at Little Pinnock, retains its original charm with thick stone walls and rustic decor. The interior features light colors, antique pine floorboards, and loose rugs throughout. The high-beamed sitting room includes an open fireplace, two sofas, and a TV, creating a cozy atmosphere. At one end of the room is a well-equipped kitchen with an electric cooker and oven, large fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washer/dryer, and a farmhouse table with six chairs.
Above the kitchen is an open gallery, accessed by a sliding stair ladder, with a single mattress tucked under the eaves. Pella has two bedrooms: a large double on the ground floor with an en-suite bathroom featuring a Victorian roll-top bath, and a second bedroom on the first floor with a small double and single bed, along with a separate shower room and toilet.
Pella's standout feature is its large south-facing terrace, overlooking the gardens that extend to the fields and down to a stream. It is an ideal spot for soaking up the sun during the day and stargazing at night.
