Riverside Lodges!
Whispering Waters consists of three uniquely designed, eco-friendly lodges situated along the banks of the River Tees in the unspoiled Teesdale, one of England's hidden gems. Built with sustainability in mind, these larch-clad lodges feature meadow roofs that change with the seasons, underfloor heating, and a wood-burning stove, providing a cosy and comfortable stay. Each lodge also includes a hot tub, ideal for stargazing under the dark, rural skies.
Each lodge is perfect for a group of four, with a two-plus-two layout. Positioned on a slope overlooking the river, two lodges are accessed by steps, while the third has a sloped gravel path. Inside, guests will find two double or twin bedrooms, two shower rooms (one en suite), fully equipped kitchens with dishwashers, WiFi, and large-screen TVs. The lodges' stunning glass doors offer beautiful seasonal views of the River Tees to the south, and a riverside path nearby is perfect for peaceful morning or evening walks with a dog.
The hot tubs are discreetly placed for privacy from neighbouring lodges, while still offering perfect views of the river and the starry night sky. Behind each lodge, there is parking for two cars, conveniently located just a few steps from the decking area.
Teesdale, the first of the northern dales, is one of the UK's best-kept secrets, known for its fantastic walking trails, 'England's Last Wilderness,' picturesque villages, and impressive historical sites. Gainford village, a hidden gem itself, often goes unnoticed by travellers but features a charming village green. Nearby, the Bowes Museum offers the finest collection of European arts in the North, housed in a grand 19th-century French-style chateau. Raby Castle, just ten minutes away, is one of the most well-preserved medieval castles in the country, surrounded by stunning parkland.
