Ben Macdui is a self-catering accommodation located in Boat of Garten, near Aviemore, in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park in the Scottish Highlands. This detached, two-storey property accommodates up to 8 guests and is built into a slope, offering lovely views from the upper-level lounge.
The ground floor includes a vestibule, hall, utility room, twin bedroom, shower room, and a large second lounge/playroom. The utility room is well-equipped with a washing machine, tumble dryer, pulley, boot rack, heater, and ample hooks, making it ideal for drying outdoor gear after a day of exploring.
A staircase leads to a galleried landing and the main living area on the upper floor. The spacious lounge, with its wood-burning stove, offers scenic views of the rolling hills to the north. The well-equipped kitchen features a breakfast bar and dining area that seats up to 8, and includes modern amenities such as a microwave, dishwasher, and freezer. The upper floor also hosts the master bedroom with an en-suite shower room, two additional twin bedrooms, and a family bathroom. Three of the bedrooms include large built-in wardrobes, and families with young children will appreciate the cot, high chair, stair gate, and stove guard provided.
The house is double-glazed, well-insulated, and heated with electric heaters throughout, complemented by the wood-burning stove (with logs supplied). Both showers are electric, and hot water is provided via an electric immersion heater. Electricity is included in the rental price.
A patio door from the kitchen leads to a spacious rear garden, located at the upper floor level. The garden is mostly grassed, with fir and birch trees, and includes a patio area with outdoor furniture. Visitors might even spot a red squirrel during their stay. At the front of the property, a large gravel area provides off-street parking for 3 to 4 cars.
Situated in the Osprey Village, Ben Macdui is a short walk from local amenities, including a well-stocked shop and Post Office, the Boat Country Inn, Anderson's Restaurant, a church, the Strathspey Steam Railway, River Spey, Boat of Garten Golf Club, tennis courts, and Milton Loch with its bird-watching hide. Just 5 miles from Aviemore, the property is ideally located for exploring the stunning Scottish Highlands.
