The Stables

Guests enter The Stables through an oak door into a bright, high-ceilinged entrance hall filled with natural light from skylights. The 50-foot-long Great Hall, with its oak beams, chestnut floor, and Victorian-style chandeliers, serves as a versatile space divided into dining, sitting, and entertainment areas. French doors open onto two courtyards, offering flexibility for indoor-outdoor living. The hall is furnished with plush sofas, a piano, a drinks cabinet, and a descending cinema screen.

The spacious kitchen includes an AGA (available in winter), electric ovens, gas and induction hobs, a microwave, dishwasher, and an American-style fridge with an ice maker. The adjacent dining area seats eight around a large oak table. A cosy sitting room with a 65-inch TV and open hearth opens onto the courtyard, perfect for evening barbecues.

The Stables features four elegant bedrooms, two of which are located on the ground floor:

Orchid Suite: A serene, Japanese-inspired room with a zip-linked super king bed, wooden floors, underfloor heating, and an en-suite with a jacuzzi, walk-in shower, twin basins, and a marbled statement wall.
Delphinium Suite: A high-ceilinged room with whimsical lighting, a double bed, and an en-suite with a walk-in marble shower, basin, WC, and underfloor heating.
Cornflower Suite: A sea-themed room with a zip-linked super king bed, a single bed, and an en-suite featuring a boat-shaped tub, walk-in shower, and porthole lighting.
French Rose Suite: A luxurious room with a super king bed, two singles, and an en-suite with a roll-top bath, walk-in shower, and antique washstand.

The Hayloft

The Hayloft is a detached property located across from The Stables, offering privacy for guests. It includes a spacious, light-filled living/dining room, a fully equipped kitchen, two en-suite bedrooms, a separate shower room, and an open-plan mezzanine level sleeping four. Accessed by an internal staircase, the first floor features a 32-foot open-plan space with sofas, a TV, and a large oak dining table, all illuminated by full-height windows overlooking the estate.

The mezzanine, connected by a chestnut wood bridge, offers two open sleeping areas with privacy screens, making it ideal for older children or adults. The Hayloft includes two main suites:

Badger Suite: A four-poster double bed, bedside tables, a wardrobe, and an en-suite with a WC, basin, and shower.
Pheasant Suite: A walnut and maple bed, a single bed, dressing table, wardrobe, and an en-suite with a marble-walled wet room, WC, and double basins.

The games barn at Merrieweathers offers endless entertainment with its charming replica of a traditional English pub, just 75 yards from The Stables and The Hayloft. Inside, guests can enjoy a pool table, bar billiards, air hockey, table football, darts, a cinema screen, and a log burner. Guests can even order a cask of local beer to use with the beer pumps, or enjoy a gin and tonic from the in-house optics. This private pub is the perfect place for fun and relaxation, day or night.

Onsite Facilities

The outdoor kitchen at The Stables is perfect for al fresco dining, featuring a brick-built charcoal barbecue, gas barbecue for vegetarians, a sink, granite work surfaces, and teak furniture for outdoor meals. From May to September, guests can enjoy a dip in the outdoor pool, located 75 yards from the manor house and exclusively available to Stables and Hayloft guests between 9 am and 6 pm.
