Ding Dong Cottages provides unique self-catering accommodation in a serene setting four miles north of Penzance and six miles from St Ives. Nestled on a hill overlooking Mount’s Bay and the Lizard Peninsula, this property includes two cosy cottages and a wooden cabin set within eight acres of meadow on the edge of the romantic Penwith moors in remote West Cornwall.
Bal Cottage
Ideal for four guests, Bal Cottage offers a charming rural retreat with a spacious upstairs living room featuring stunning views in all directions. A wide bay window facing west is perfect for admiring spectacular sunsets. The lounge also includes well-stocked bookcases and a gallery overlooking the well-equipped ground-floor kitchen and dining area. Downstairs, there are two bedrooms with 4’6” double beds and hand wash basins, along with an excellent shower and a separate toilet.
The Loft
Designed for two, The Loft is a charming, intimate base with panoramic views. The spacious upstairs living room offers beautiful scenery in every direction, while the ground-floor kitchen and adjacent dining room face south, allowing guests to enjoy sunlight from dawn. Views extend over the cottage garden and countryside to St Michael's Mount, Mount's Bay, and the Lizard Peninsula on the distant horizon.
The Cabin
Nestled at the end of an untamed garden, The Cabin offers uninterrupted views of the countryside and sea. Located near the Penwith moors, it provides direct access to landmarks such as the Men-an-Tol and Nine Maidens. This cosy wooden cabin includes a double bed settee, a 22" widescreen digital TV/radio, and a fridge/freezer. The south-facing double-glazed picture window ensures plenty of natural light, and wireless internet is available.
Exploring the Area
Ding Dong Cottages boasts panoramic views over fields, moorland, and the sea, extending as far as The Lizard, 35 miles away. The cottages are within easy walking distance of ancient sites, including Chysauster Iron Age Village, Nine Maidens, Lanyon Quoit, the Mên-an-Tol, and Chûn Castle. This peaceful location is perfect for wildlife observation, bird watching, walking, photography, and other outdoor activities, providing an escape from the hustle and bustle of town life, with no passing traffic and unrestricted walks in every direction.
