Model Farm is a charming country house that combines an impressive Victorian façade with the character of a 17th-century farmhouse and cider barn. Accommodating up to 25 guests, the property features 10 double or family bedrooms, including 5 en suite rooms and 3 additional bathrooms. The Victorian section retains many original features, such as high ceilings with intricate cornicing, original fireplaces, and stained glass windows. Guests can enjoy a large kitchen/diner and a spacious lounge furnished with leather Chesterfields. The adjoining Cider Barn offers an additional kitchen/diner, a table football table, and access to a large covered loggia complete with a BBQ area, a log-fired pizza oven, and an outdoor kitchen for al fresco dining.
Set within 4 acres of stunning wildlife-friendly gardens, Model Farm offers year-round interest with a diverse array of plants. The grounds include a Scandinavian-style log-fired hot tub seating 8, several patios with ample seating, a croquet lawn, a football area with a large goal, and various outdoor games. Guests can also experience wild swimming in the outdoor swimming pond. Ample off-road parking is available.
Specialising in hosting large groups, the property is ideal for weekend stays, typically offering a two-night package from Friday to Sunday afternoon at approximately two-thirds the cost of a week-long stay. Three-night and mid-week stays are also available. All types of groups are welcome except very young adults, and up to two dogs are permitted per group.
A newly completed 55 sq. m Orangery adds to the property's versatility and can be used as a function room. For inquiries, guests can contact Dave and Roz directly.
Model Farm is situated in the peaceful hamlet of Perry Green, just an 8-minute drive from Bridgwater. Conveniently located near Junctions 23 and 24 of the M5, the property offers easy access to the Quantock Hills, a short drive away. The area boasts a wealth of walking trails and footpaths, leading to local pubs perfect for a leisurely lunch or dinner. The nearby village of Cannington offers additional attractions, including pubs, gardens, a golf course, horse riding, paintball/laser shooting, and an adventure climbing area.
