Thornbank is a charming and cosy timber-built holiday cottage situated in the picturesque village of Braemar, nestled in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park. Offering a blend of rustic simplicity and modern amenities, this snug retreat is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts and those looking to unwind amidst stunning Highland scenery. Whether your plans include paragliding, mountain biking, skiing, or simply walking and soaking in the natural beauty, Thornbank provides the ideal base for exploration and relaxation.

Cottage Features
Dating back to around 1890, Thornbank combines historic charm with modern comforts, accommodating up to four guests. The thoughtfully designed interiors include:

Living/Dining Room: A welcoming space with a wood-burning stove for cosy evenings. Electric radiators provide additional heating, and while there’s no TV, a stereo/CD player with MP3/iPod connection is available.
Kitchen: Fully equipped with a full-size electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, and a combined washing machine and tumble dryer. Crockery, cutlery, pots, and pans are all provided for convenient self-catering.
Bathroom: Features a small electric water tank and an electric shower on the ground floor.
Bedrooms:
A double bedroom on the upper floor with a comfortable bed.
A second upstairs bedroom with a single bed and a fold-out bed for added flexibility.
An additional toilet and washroom on the upper floor for convenience.
While the cottage does not have Wi-Fi, a strong 4G signal is available in the village for those who need connectivity. Additional amenities include a travel cot, high chair, and a dog basket to ensure all family members, including pets, feel at home.

Outdoor Space
Thornbank boasts a lovely garden with pedestrian access to the village centre. The outdoor area includes a fire pit and BBQ, perfect for al fresco dining and evenings by the fire. Children will love exploring the woods behind the property, which serve as a natural playground teeming with red squirrels, rabbits, and jackdaws. A lockable shed provides secure storage for mountain bikes and outdoor gear, and parking is available for one car at the rear of the cottage.
