Vipers Quay offers charming self-catering accommodation right on the River Dart, just a stone’s throw from the picturesque village of Dittisham. This unique riverside setting is ideal for a peaceful coastal retreat, with easy access to Dartmouth and a host of local Devon attractions.
The 1960s boat house sleeps up to 12 guests and boasts breathtaking views across the River Dart. It’s the perfect choice for families or groups, with everything set on one level, making it accessible for wheelchair users too.
Inside, the spacious living room offers stunning river views, stretching across to Greenway House and Dittisham. Guests can relax in comfy armchairs and sofas by the open fire, or gather around the TV. A generous dining area seats up to 14 people and opens onto a balcony. The well-equipped kitchen features a large fridge-freezer, oven, microwave and dishwasher — everything needed for a stress-free stay.
There are five bedrooms in total. Bedroom 1 features a double bed, en suite, and river views. Bedroom 2 has flexible zip-link beds (twin or super-king) and an en suite. Bedrooms 3 and 4 also have zip-link beds and share a main bathroom, while Bedroom 5 offers full-length bunk beds and its own bathroom.
Outdoors, guests can soak up the sun on the large sundeck with loungers and deck chairs, or launch a canoe, kayak or paddleboard from the private jetty. A small garden, BBQ, and picnic tables invite al fresco dining, and the house is set within 2 acres of peaceful woodland.
Nearby Dittisham is home to two cosy pubs — the Ferryboat Inn and the Red Lion — as well as the Anchorstone Café, perfect for sampling local seafood. Visitors can also explore Agatha Christie’s beloved Greenway or take to the water with Marshall Sailing’s school and boat hire.
