Forest Oak Farm, Purlieu, Lydney, Gloucestershire
The accommodation on the estate centres around three thoughtfully designed, eco-friendly cottages. Each single-storey cottage is powered by solar energy and supported by an environmentally conscious waste system, reflecting the farm’s commitment to sustainable living. French doors open onto private, fenced patios with open views across the surrounding countryside, offering guests a place to enjoy breakfast in the sun, barbecue in the evening, or simply relax while their canine companions explore safely by their side.
Rosie Lea is ideal for families or small groups, sleeping four guests in a double and a twin bedroom. Its spacious open-plan kitchen, dining and living area features a flatscreen TV and plenty of room for socialising, while the large shower room and adjacent allocated parking add extra convenience.
Cherry Blossom shares the same two-bedroom layout and wide valley views from its enclosed patio. It offers a warm and comfortable space with a modern kitchen and bright living–dining area, although it does not provide wheelchair access.
Perry Pears, the largest of the three cottages, is fully wheelchair accessible. It includes a double bedroom, twin bedroom, and a generous open-plan living space that looks out onto the garden. The separate wet-room style shower and ease of access make it an ideal option for guests requiring more space and flexibility.
Each cottage includes its own parking bay and is decorated and equipped to a high standard, with a focus on comfort and functionality. Guests can make the most of the peaceful surroundings, enjoying the quiet rhythms of the countryside while being just a short distance from popular attractions such as Dean Forest Railway, Clearwell Caves, and the International Centre for Birds of Prey.
Forest Oak Farm is more than a place to stay—it’s a place to reconnect with nature, enjoy quality time with friends, family and pets, and explore one of England’s most beautiful and historic woodland regions.
