St Margaret's Park, Polgooth, St Austell, Cornwall

Tucked away in the peaceful village of Polgooth, St Margaret's Park offers self catering accommodation in a charming collection of individually styled properties. This family-run park is set within six acres of beautiful parkland near St Austell, making it a superb base for exploring the many treasures of Cornwall, including The Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan.

The park features 29 unique lodges, each with its own character and layout. Whether set along the sloping grounds or nestled on the level lawns, the lodges are designed to suit a wide range of needs. Families often favour the Type E lodges for their convenient location near the dog walk and playing fields, while Type F lodges provide extra privacy and tranquil views near the stream, complete with spacious covered verandas. Type G lodges, also near the stream, offer the added benefit of a third bedroom with en suite facilities and a kitchen fitted with a dishwasher.

All lodges include a comfortable lounge and dining area, TV, CD player, DVD player, and a well-equipped kitchen, as well as bedrooms and bathrooms. Outdoor furniture is provided with each property, encouraging guests to make the most of Cornwall’s mild climate with al fresco meals or evening relaxation.

For those seeking a more unique place to stay, the historic Engine House offers modern accommodation in a thoughtfully renovated 1890s building. Spread over several levels, this property features three bedrooms on the ground floor, including an en suite master room. A family bathroom and utility room are also located here. Upstairs, guests will find a fully equipped kitchen with access to a private decking area, a dining room with views across the park, and a top-floor lounge for quiet evenings in. Due to its layout, the Engine House may not be suitable for guests with mobility issues or families with very young children.

St Margaret's Park is ideally situated for visiting the many attractions that make Cornwall such a popular destination. Guests can enjoy the golden sands of nearby beaches such as Pentewan, Porthpean, Vault and Gorran Haven, or head further afield for family fun at Camel Creek Theme Park, the Bodmin Railway, the Cornish Seal Sanctuary or Dairyland Farm Park.

Whether looking for a quiet couples’ getaway or a fun-filled family holiday, St Margaret’s Park offers a welcoming base from which to enjoy Cornwall’s coastline, countryside and rich heritage.
