Field Barn Park, Bourton-on -the-Water, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire

Field Barn Park is an over-30s holiday destination designed for those seeking peace, relaxation, and the charm of the English countryside. Located in a small, secluded fold of the Cotswold Hills, it offers an ideal place to recharge and enjoy the quiet with friends old and new. Just a mile and a half from Bourton-on-the-Water, near Cheltenham, the park is perfectly positioned for guests to enjoy local shops, cafés, and attractions, while remaining free from the noise of traffic, houses, and streetlights. Its setting also makes it a great base for exploring the beauty of Gloucestershire.

The park features 53 free-draining grass pitches over limestone, each with a 10-amp electric hook-up and mains tap water included in the stay. Guests can request a preferred pitch or area at the time of booking. Well-behaved dogs are welcome for a small daily charge, with a limit of two per pitch, and direct access to public footpaths offers easy opportunities for scenic countryside walks.

Facilities are thoughtfully designed, with a washroom block housed in a traditional Cotswold stone barn complete with underfloor heating. Separate areas are provided for ladies and gentlemen, alongside a dedicated bathroom for disabled guests. Each has three shower cubicles offering constant warm water, and the block is cleaned daily by wardens. The park also provides a utility room with washing-up sinks, a fridge, freezer, microwave, and laundry facilities, while Wi-Fi is available in the reception area.

In summer, guests can enjoy freshly baked pizzas every Saturday evening, courtesy of Silvo, an authentic Italian chef. A local Indian restaurant also delivers directly to the park throughout the season, offering further convenience for dining.

The surrounding area offers a wealth of attractions. These include The Cotswold Farm Park, The Cotswold Wildlife Park, Westonbirt Arboretum, and Chedworth Roman Villa, as well as the medieval wool churches of Chipping Campden, Northleach, Burford, and Cirencester. Visitors can also explore the historic town of Stow on the Wold, enjoy nearby golf courses, or visit trout farms at Donnington and Bibury.
