Tanglewood is a welcoming, family-run park located on the edge of the Lake District National Park. Established for over 50 years, it has built a reputation for offering a peaceful and friendly atmosphere, ideal for those seeking a relaxing, laid-back holiday. As a pet-friendly park, Tanglewood invites guests to bring their pets along free of charge, ensuring that every member of the family can enjoy a well-earned break. The only request is that dogs are kept on a lead while out on the park, maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone.

Tanglewood’s large, modern holiday homes provide spacious, comfortable accommodation measuring 36 feet by 12 feet. Each holiday home includes a large end bedroom, electric lighting, hot and cold running water, toilet, shower, gas fire, cooker, microwave, fridge and television. All gas and electricity are included in the booking price, and each home has its own adjacent parking space. The holiday homes are available from March through to the end of January, including special Christmas and New Year bookings. Guests are reminded to bring their own bed linen and towels.

For socialising and entertainment, the park has a fully licensed bar with a friendly, family atmosphere and occasional live events. The site itself accommodates 58 static caravans, nine of which are available for hire, with a licence for up to 83. There are also 21 pitches for touring caravans, each with electric hook-ups and water or drainage facilities, along with 10 pitches for tents. Visitors can take advantage of clean, well-maintained shower and toilet blocks featuring underfloor heating, chemical disposal points and a fully equipped laundry area.

Tanglewood’s location makes it an excellent base for exploring the wider area. A short drive brings visitors to the stunning Lake District or to the historic destination of Gretna Green, both perfect for day trips. Just a mile and a half away lies the seaside town of Silloth, known for its sandy beach, fishing and swimming opportunities, as well as its golf course. Throughout the summer, Silloth hosts a range of local events including the Carnival Day, the Firebird Festival, Soul on the Green and the popular Beer Festival. Market Days also take place on Thursdays and weekends, adding to the town’s lively atmosphere.
