On arrival, guests are welcomed into a spacious entrance hallway with a downstairs cloakroom and WC. A practical storage area beneath the stairs is well stocked with children’s equipment, including a potty, high chair, toilet set, walker and stair gate, making the property particularly appealing for families with young children.
Leading from the hallway is a large, bright and airy open-plan living and dining area. This inviting space is comfortably furnished with two large leather sofas and two single leather chairs, ensuring there is ample seating for everyone. A glass dining table seats up to six guests and is ideal for family meals or relaxed evenings together. Entertainment is well catered for with a selection of books, DVDs and games, while the media wall features a 55-inch flatscreen TV with Sky Stream and Netflix, complemented by surround sound for an enhanced viewing experience.
French doors open from the living area onto an enclosed, furnished decking area overlooking the lake. This outdoor space includes a table and chairs for up to six people, a private hot tub that is not overlooked, and a gas barbecue for al fresco dining. Alongside the decking, a grassy area sits on the banks of Windrush Lake, offering a peaceful spot to relax, unwind and enjoy the waterside surroundings.
The kitchen is fully equipped to cater comfortably for six adults and two small children. It provides everything needed to prepare anything from simple meals to full dinner parties, with appliances including an oven, hob, dishwasher, washer-dryer, microwave, fridge-freezer and coffee machine. For guests looking to make their stay even more relaxing, there is also the option to arrange a private chef or have a ready-prepared meal delivered to the lodge.
Accommodation is arranged across three well-appointed bedrooms with flexible sleeping arrangements. The master bedroom occupies the top floor and features a zip-and-link king-size bed that can be configured as a double or twins, a 32-inch TV with Sky Q, and an en-suite bathroom with bath, shower and WC. On the first floor, the second bedroom offers either a king-size double or twin beds and also benefits from a 32-inch TV with Sky Q. The third bedroom, also on the first floor, has twin beds that can be made into a king-size double on request with the addition of a mattress topper. A main family bathroom with shower, WC and hand basin is located on the first floor.
Windrush Turret Lodge is exceptionally well equipped for families with infants and young children. There is space for cots, and a wide range of baby and toddler equipment is provided, including a steriliser, plastic cutlery and plates, toys, books, stair gates, bed guards, steps and a child’s toilet seat. A good selection of board games, books and DVDs is also available, ensuring guests of all ages are well entertained throughout their stay.
The lodge is set within a secure, gated and well-maintained New England–style lakeside holiday development. Guests have access to an excellent range of on-site facilities and activities, making it a popular choice for families, couples and groups of friends alike. These include all-weather tennis courts, a children’s adventure playground, football goals, a croquet lawn, boules area, table tennis, a golf practice net and an indoor games room with pool table, table football and video games. Exclusive carp and coarse fishing is available on the Isis and Windrush Lakes, while canoeing and kayaking can be enjoyed on the larger Windrush Lake.
