Ilfracombe is an excellent base for exploring North Devon. The town marks the start of the Route 27 coast-to-coast cycle ride to Plymouth, while the South West Coast Path offers breathtaking walks with dramatic scenery. Surfers are drawn to the hostel thanks to its proximity to the sandy beaches of Woolacombe, Croyde and Saunton Sands, all just a short drive away. The privately owned Tunnels Beaches, steeped in Victorian history, are also within easy walking distance, adding to the area’s unique appeal.
