Tucked away in the peaceful countryside of Mid Wales, Rhosllyn Retreats offers two beautifully designed self catering lodges near Rhayader, providing a relaxing escape surrounded by nature. Stepping inside either lodge, guests are welcomed into a light-filled and spacious open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area, thoughtfully designed as a sociable space to relax after days spent exploring. The contemporary kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances, including an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, wine fridge, washing machine and tumble dryer, ensuring a comfortable and convenient stay. The inviting wood burner, with an initial supply of logs provided, adds warmth and character, creating a cosy atmosphere for cooler evenings spent watching a film or enjoying time together.

On the ground floor there are two super-king-size zip-and-link bedrooms, one of which features an en-suite wet room and a veranda overlooking the lake. A separate wet room is conveniently located next to the second bedroom. The first floor is home to two impressive super-king-size zip-and-link bedrooms, each boasting a freestanding bath within the bedroom and en-suite wet rooms. The master suite benefits from a private balcony with lake views, while the rear bedroom enjoys views across rolling green hills. All bedrooms are equipped with Smart TVs, adding an extra level of comfort.

Outside, an enclosed and fully covered terrace provides a relaxing space to enjoy the outdoors in all weathers. Guests can unwind in the six-person hot tub or enjoy al fresco dining using the outdoor furniture provided, while a charcoal barbecue sits on the nearby lawned area. With peaceful lakeside views, tranquil surroundings and the flexibility to accommodate up to 16 guests when both lodges are booked together, Rhosllyn Retreats is an excellent choice for larger group getaways.

Rhayader makes a fantastic base for exploring the natural beauty of Powys. The Elan Valley is just a short drive away and offers dramatic dams, reservoirs and miles of scenic walking and cycling routes. The town itself is known as the outdoor capital of Wales and is close to the Red Kite Feeding Station at Gigrin Farm, where visitors can watch red kites up close. Nearby attractions include the historic market town of Llandrindod Wells, the Wye Valley and the Cambrian Mountains, making the area ideal for wildlife spotting, outdoor adventures and discovering some of Wales’ most unspoilt landscapes.
