Westland Farm, Bratton Fleming, Barnstaple, Devon

Westland Farm offers glamping accommodation in Bratton Fleming, a welcoming village set on the edge of Exmoor National Park. Located just a short distance from Barnstaple in Devon, this countryside getaway is ideal for guests seeking peace, relaxation and a slower pace of life. Set beside a picturesque babbling brook and surrounded by lush, rolling Devon countryside, Westland Farm provides the perfect escape for nature lovers and outdoor adventurers alike. Guests can choose from the Shepherd’s Hut, Drovers Hut or cosy Yurt, each thoughtfully positioned to make the most of the natural setting.

One of the standout accommodation options is the Crinkly Cabin, a distinctive retreat created from repurposed shipping containers and set within a private three-acre field at the bottom of the farm. Sleeping up to six guests, it is well suited to couples, families and small groups looking for a peaceful rural getaway. The cabin features a well-equipped kitchen with an off-grid fridge, two-burner gas hob, hot and cold water and a welcome selection of tea, coffee, sugar and sweet treats on arrival. The open-plan living area has double doors that open directly onto the surrounding field, leading to a decked area that is perfect for enjoying a morning cup of tea in the sunshine. Inside, guests can relax by the cosy wood-burning stove with a small oven above. The cabin includes two bedrooms, each with a king-size bed, along with a full-size single day bed and occasional beds available for additional guests if required. Just outside the cabin door is a separate shower room with a flushing toilet, sink and a large shower, with hot water supplied by an off-grid boiler.

The Shepherd’s Hut offers a charming and comfortable glamping experience and comes complete with its own wood-fired hot tub. Inside, the hut features a comfy king-size bed with child bunks above, all fitted with memory foam mattresses, fresh duvets, plump pillows and beautiful linen. The kitchen area includes a small sink with running water, a single gas hob, pretty china crockery and all the necessary cooking utensils. A wood-burning stove provides warmth and comfort, while the stable door opens out to incredible views towards Wistlandpound Reservoir. Outside, the hut benefits from its own fenced garden, outdoor seating and a fire pit, making it an inviting space to relax at the end of the day.

The Drovers Hut, built on an ex-army ammunition trailer, offers a characterful stay and sleeps up to six guests. Inside, it includes a king-size bed, single bunks and a trestle bed that pulls out from beneath the main bed. The country-style kitchen features a Belfast sink, solid oak worktop, dresser top, two-burner gas hob, table and benches, along with a wood-burning range stove complete with oven and hobs above. The kitchen is well equipped for self-catering, and adjacent to it is a private bathroom with a decking area that has two gates, allowing it to be securely enclosed for dogs or children. Outside, guests can enjoy seating, a fire pit and a barbecue, making it ideal for al fresco dining in the Devon countryside.
