The Tudor Arms, Shepherds Patch, Slimbridge, Gloucester, Gloucestershire

The Tudor Arms in Shepherds Patch offers a welcoming blend of comfortable accommodation, quality dining and a traditional pub atmosphere, all set beside the scenic Gloucester–Sharpness Canal. Located in Gloucestershire, the property enjoys an excellent position just half a mile from the renowned Slimbridge Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust, making it an ideal base for both relaxation and exploration.

Dating back to the 18th century, the pub is rich in charm and character, while modern comforts are provided within the purpose-built Tudor Arms Lodge situated adjacent to the main building. The lodge offers 16 spacious bedrooms, all recently refurbished and equipped with contemporary en suite facilities to ensure a comfortable stay.

Each room is thoughtfully equipped with complimentary toiletries, a hairdryer, telephone with radio alarm, remote control television and tea and coffee making facilities.

Dining is a key feature of the Tudor Arms experience, with six distinct areas offering a variety of settings. Guests can enjoy meals in the characterful barn with its exposed beams and traditional oak seating, or in the bright and airy front lounge. The main dining area sits beside the Long Barn, while the Hayloft provides a quieter and more intimate atmosphere. Breakfast is served in the conservatory, and on warmer days, guests can dine outdoors on the covered patio. Food is served seven days a week, with a menu focused on homemade dishes prepared using locally sourced produce, alongside a popular Sunday carvery.

The pub also features two licensed bars, offering a wide selection of drinks including cask ales, keg ales, stouts, lagers and ciders, providing the perfect setting to unwind.

The surrounding village of Slimbridge is well known for its natural attractions, particularly the WWT Slimbridge Wetland Centre, which draws visitors from across the country. Nearby, guests can also explore Dr Jenner’s House or visit Cattle Country Farm Park, offering a range of family-friendly activities.

With its combination of historic character, modern accommodation and a strong focus on food and hospitality, the Tudor Arms provides an excellent choice for those looking to experience the charm of Gloucestershire.
