Wainsford House Riverside Cottages in Twowatersfoot offers a range of outstanding self-catering accommodation, nestled within stunning grounds in the heart of Cornwall. Set alongside the beautiful River Fowey, the cottages provide an idyllic setting where guests can enjoy game fishing and scenic walks through parkland with their four-legged companions. The location offers easy access to Bodmin, Looe, Polperro, Fowey and Liskeard, as well as the world-famous Eden Project.
The cottages are situated within the 19-acre Wainsford Estate, where guests can explore meadows and ancient woodland. In total, there are three cottages available, all offering excellent facilities. When booked together, guests can also enjoy exclusive use of the communal lounge in The Barn.
Loveny Cottage
The largest of the three, Loveny Cottage offers views over the enclosed garden and parkland, with a lake beyond, from the living room. It features three twin bedrooms and a family bathroom, with the master bedroom also benefiting from an en suite shower room. Downstairs, there is a kitchen/diner and a living room with patio doors opening onto the enclosed garden.
Parr Cottage
This charming cottage features a first-floor open plan kitchen, living and dining area with a stove and beamed ceiling. A stable door leads onto a raised deck and tiered garden. The kitchen is well equipped with a range of appliances. On the ground floor, there is a master en suite bedroom with patio doors opening onto the garden, along with a twin room and a bunk room that share a family bathroom.
Peal Cottage
Peal Cottage enjoys beautiful views over the garden, parkland and lake from the living room. The ground floor includes an open plan living space with a vaulted ceiling and dining area, along with a fully equipped kitchen and a master bedroom with en suite bathroom. On the first floor, there are two twin bedrooms and a family bathroom.
All cottages are equipped with a dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge, freezer, two-oven cooker, microwave, Freesat TV, DVD and CD player, along with linen, towels and a BBQ. Each cottage sleeps up to six guests, and when booked together, the three cottages can accommodate up to 18 people.
In addition, Waters Meet is available – a shepherd’s hut that sleeps two adults (please note, pets are not permitted in this accommodation).
Adjoining the courtyard is The Barn, a communal space offering a range of facilities, including a rod room with bait fridge and freezer, a dog washroom complete with bowls, beds, cages, towels and throws, a games area, kitchenette and a large lounge with a log-burning stove.
The cottages are located just five miles from the tidal reaches of the River Fowey, which is renowned as one of the best sea trout and salmon fishing rivers in the UK. Guests can contact the owners for further information about fishing along this stretch.
The surrounding area offers plenty to see and do. The village of St Neot features a circular walk and the dog-friendly London Inn pub. Cardinham Woods provides excellent walking and cycling trails, while nearby Lanhydrock is a stunning late Victorian country house set within beautiful gardens and woodland. Further afield, Cornwall offers tropical gardens, sandy beaches, picturesque villages and rugged coastal landscapes to explore.
