Arosfa Cottage, Beddgelert, Gwynedd, Snowdonia
Originally built in the 1830s as a copper miners cottage, Arosfa — meaning “rest here” in Welsh — has been beautifully restored and immaculately presented to provide comfortable accommodation for two guests. The traditional stone-built cottage combines character and charm with modern comforts, making it ideal for couples seeking a relaxing escape in North Wales.
Downstairs, the cosy lounge and dining area provides comfortable seating alongside a feature fireplace with a welcoming log-burning stove. Guests can enjoy views towards the surrounding mountains while relaxing after a day exploring the local area. Entertainment facilities include a digital television with Free Sat, along with a DVD and CD player with radio.
The fitted kitchen is well equipped with everything needed for a self-catering stay, including a ceramic halogen hob, combination oven and microwave, fridge, kettle, toaster and ample storage space. A separate utility and drying room houses a washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer, offering added convenience for longer stays or walking holidays.
Upstairs, the spacious bedroom features a super-king bed which can also be arranged as twin singles if required. The room enjoys beautiful views over the River Glaslyn and surrounding mountains, while a generous walk-in wardrobe and dressing area provide plenty of storage. Guests also benefit from a bathroom with bath, shower and washbasin, along with a separate WC.
Outside, the rear garden offers a peaceful setting bordered by woodland on the mountain slope behind the cottage. A patio seating area with table and chairs provides the perfect place to relax and take in the stunning scenery. Street parking is available directly outside the cottage.
