Located in the tranquil Naddle Valley, less than three miles from Keswick and only a short drive from Grasmere, guests are perfectly placed to explore some of the Lake District’s most scenic walking routes and attractions directly from the doorstep.
At the centre of the retreat is Brackenrigg House, a charming Victorian country home sleeping up to 10 guests. Spacious and welcoming throughout, the property combines traditional character with modern comfort. The double-aspect lounge features large bay windows framing stunning fell views alongside a cosy wood-burning stove, while the handmade oak kitchen and dining space is fully equipped for family gatherings and entertaining.
The house offers five generous en-suite bedrooms, including a luxurious master suite complete with a jacuzzi bath and separate shower. Guests can also enjoy a games room with an air hockey table, practical laundry facilities and extensive outdoor spaces including a verandah, BBQ area, summer house and children’s play area.
Just a short walk from the main house, Brackenrigg Barn Cottages provide three beautifully converted 19th-century cottages, each offering its own unique charm and comfort.
Bleaberry Cottage is a cosy ground-floor studio designed for two guests. The open-plan layout includes a comfortable lounge area, king-sized bed and well-equipped kitchen, while outside, guests can relax with countryside views and access to the surrounding meadows and woodland.
Brocklebeck Cottage also accommodates two guests and features a striking arched barn window with panoramic views of the Helvellyn range. Combining rustic charm with modern amenities, the cottage provides a peaceful and comfortable base for a romantic Lake District escape.
The Sett is the largest of the cottages and is ideal for families, sleeping up to four guests across two bedrooms. Original stone walls, wooden beams and floor-to-ceiling windows give the property plenty of character, while the spacious open-plan living area and fellside garden create the perfect setting to unwind after a day exploring the Lakes.
The grounds surrounding Brackenrigg House and Brackenrigg Barn Cottages are one of the property’s true highlights. Children have plenty of space to play, while wildlife lovers can enjoy regular sightings of red squirrels, deer, badgers, foxes and a wide variety of birds including owls, buzzards and kestrels. The peaceful setting offers the ideal opportunity to relax and reconnect with nature.
