Atlantic View Coach House, New Polzeath, Wadebridge, Cornwall
Thoughtfully rebuilt in 2011/12, Atlantic View Coach House combines traditional Cornish character with a light and contemporary interior. Vernacular materials, including Cornish stone, reclaimed Delabole slate roofing and a slate patio, help the property sit naturally within its coastal surroundings.
The property sleeps up to eight guests across four comfortable bedrooms, with each bedroom offering the flexibility to be configured with either twin beds or a super king-size double.
On the lower ground floor, guests will find two en-suite bedrooms, while the ground floor provides a further two bedrooms, including one with an en-suite and another served by a separate bathroom. All bedrooms include a digital television and hairdryer.
One of the highlights of Atlantic View Coach House is its first-floor kitchen, dining and living area. Designed to take advantage of the coastal setting, the dual-aspect room features a south-west facing glazed extension with beautiful views across the beach and sea.
There is plenty of space for guests to relax together, with a large leather L-shaped sofa, leather easy chair and a log-burning stove with wood supplied. Entertainment facilities include a digital television, DVD player, sound bar and subwoofer.
A 10-seater Italian designer dining table provides a spacious setting for meals together, while the fully fitted oak kitchen comes with granite worktops and an extensive selection of appliances. These include an electric range cooker, dishwasher, large larder fridge, freezer, microwave, food processor and double sink.
On the lower ground floor, a separate utility room houses a washing machine and tumble dryer. There is also a dedicated beach room with a Belfast sink and wetsuit hanging area, providing a particularly useful space after days spent enjoying Cornwall’s beaches and coastline.
Outside, the property offers plenty of opportunities to make the most of its coastal location. Guests can dine on the modern glassed balcony, which has a table and seating for eight, or relax on the slate terrace while taking in the fabulous sea views. A built-in barbecue, slate seating and four sun loungers provide even more options for enjoying time outdoors.
At the end of the lawn, a raised decking area offers another table with seating for eight. Its position opens up views towards the west, creating a wonderful place to gather in the evening and watch the sun set over the sea.
