Steeped in history, the building has served many purposes over the years, including a bank, a seamen's hospital and the home of the Whitby photographic archive. It also stands on a street once home to the famous explorer Captain James Cook, adding even more character to this unique holiday apartment.
Set across two floors, the apartment provides plenty of space to relax after a day spent exploring Whitby's narrow streets, independent shops, beaches and historic landmarks. On the first floor, guests will find a bright and spacious lounge with views across Whitby Harbour on one side and Grape Lane on the other. A Smart TV, Bluetooth speakers, books, games and jigsaws make it easy to enjoy a quiet evening indoors.
The well-equipped kitchen has everything needed for a comfortable self-catering stay, including a dishwasher, washer-dryer, microwave and dining table seating up to six guests. Families are well catered for, with child-friendly crockery and cutlery, plus a highchair and travel cot available on request.
The second floor is home to two spacious bedrooms and two bathrooms. The master bedroom features a king-size bed, the original fireplace and uninterrupted harbour views, along with a modern en-suite shower room. The twin bedroom is located next to the family bathroom, which includes a bath with a shower attachment. A foldaway bed or cot can also be provided if required.
