Whitefield Forest Touring Park, Ryde, Isle of Wight
Guests arriving with a touring caravan, motorhome or tent have a choice of spacious pitches. Fully serviced hardstanding pitches include electric hook-up, water and grey waste drainage, while grass pitches with electric hook-up are also available.
The park has modern heated facilities designed to make stays as comfortable and convenient as possible. These include private cubicles, baby changing facilities, washing-up areas and a separate laundry room with washing machines and tumble dryers.
One of the highlights of staying at Whitefield Forest is its natural setting. The park has been carefully developed with the surrounding environment in mind, giving guests plenty of opportunities to enjoy the woodland and its wildlife.
A woodland walk leads through the trees to a squirrel hide, where visitors may be lucky enough to catch sight of the Isle of Wight’s famous red squirrels. Woodpeckers and other wildlife can also be spotted, while seasonal displays of bluebells and orchids add even more interest to the surroundings.
Families are well catered for, with a children’s play area tucked amongst the trees. Dogs are welcome too, although they need to remain on leads around the park and woodland walk to help protect the local wildlife.
Exploring further afield is easy. Walking and cycling routes provide an enjoyable way to discover more of the island, while a local bus service is convenient for guests who would rather leave their vehicle at the park.
Reception stocks a selection of everyday essentials and is a useful source of information about attractions and days out across the Isle of Wight. Guests can also make use of a book swap library and free WiFi available from a hotspot around the reception building.
For those who enjoy the woodland setting but prefer not to camp or tour, Whitefield Forest Touring Park also has comfortable holiday lodges. Sleeping up to four guests, the lodges offer either two double bedrooms or a double and a twin bedroom.
